The shelf footprint matters as much as the box art.
Check the manufacturer’s finished wingspan and length when available. Include a stand, raised base or open details in your space plan. Use the scale bench with a known real dimension for an estimate.
Choose the kit variant and marking scheme before optional parts are fixed. Keep your reference notes separate from a fictional paint scheme, and check the actual instruction branches.
Read whether a stand is included and which display configurations the kit supports. Do not infer an option from box artwork alone. Note inaccessible interiors or surfaces the instructions expect to be handled earlier.
